One of the most frustrating things I have found with 3d modeling and graphics preparation is the lack of quality plant models. Often times designers must choose a plant that looks “close enough” to the intended species. I have been working to compile a library of 3d plants that can be utilized in 3d modeling programs and exported for use in presentation graphics. The plants have been modeled using SketchTree, an algorithmic tree modeler, using form, color, and texture characteristics of actual species. This gallery includes a sampling of some of the tree models.
